Clean up text. In seconds.

Copied text is rarely clean: duplicate lines, hard line breaks, HTML leftovers. OneTwo Text Editor fixes that with one tap, with 46 text transformations that run entirely on your device. No account, no subscription, no AI.

Clean up text before you download the app

Four tools that run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. The transformations are modeled on how the app behaves. The interface is simplified; the text detective and the quick start plan exist only on this page, not in the app.

Colors only in this demo: orange = non-ASCII bytes (e.g. umlauts, non-breaking spaces), green = line ending (0A). The app highlights the selection in yellow.

Clean up the three tabs

Each tab has a typical problem. Pick a transformation in the toolbar: it works on your selection or, if nothing is selected, on the whole document. One undo takes it back. The demo applies the transformation immediately; the app first shows a dialog with “Cancel” and “Execute”.

  • Switch between the tabs
  • Remove the duplicate lines (🔁)
  • Open the hex view (Editor and Hex)
  • Remove the hidden characters in the “mail-draft.txt” tab (e.g. 🧽)
  • Take a change back with “Undo”
Done! That is how OneTwo Text Editor cleans up text.

Tip: try the hex view in the “mail-draft.txt” tab: the non-breaking space (C2 A0) and the zero-width character (E2 80 8B) are invisible in the text but easy to spot in hex. Your tabs stay in this browser.

Features

What OneTwo Text Editor can do

A calm plain text editor with tools that clean up text in seconds.

46 text transformations, all on your device

Uppercase and lowercase, duplicate lines and blank lines, unified quotation marks, HTML leftovers and hard line breaks removed, and much more. Every transformation works on the selection or the whole document, and a single undo takes it back.

Your toolbar

You decide which commands appear in the toolbar.

Ready-made bundles

Six bundles such as “Copy-paste cleanup”, “Web content cleanup”, “Polish text” or “Compress text” chain several steps.

Hex view

Shows the UTF-8 bytes of the text, on its own or next to the editor, read-only. Spot hidden characters such as non-breaking spaces, the byte sequences of umlauts and emoji, and line endings.

Find and replace

Find and replace inside a document, plus full-text search across the names and content of documents (content of locked documents excluded).

Tabs that stay

Several documents open at once in tabs, even after a restart.

A tidy library

Color tags, a filter bar and pinned documents. With iCloud, tags are the same on all devices.

Privacy screen for documents

Lock individual documents with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. The lock hides the content in the app and in widgets; it does not encrypt the stored text.

Share, print, widgets

Open, import and export text files, share and print with automatic page breaks; on the Mac also export as PDF. Widgets show pinned, recently edited and color-tag documents, plus “New Document”, also on the Mac.

Devices

One purchase, three devices

Requirements: iOS 18 or later on iPhone, iPadOS 18 or later on iPad, macOS 15 or later on Mac.

  • All 46 transformations, entirely on the device
  • Hex view on its own or next to the text

  • Nine color themes, light and dark
  • Widgets on the Home and Lock Screen
  • “New Document” control in Control Center
  • Lock with Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode

iPad

  • Everything from iPhone: transformations, hex view and tabs
  • Open and save files directly, in a separate window with tabs
  • Import and export through the Files app
  • Share and print
  • Nine color themes, light and dark
  • Widgets on the Home and Lock Screen

Mac

  • A native Mac app of its own
  • Open and save files directly
  • Export as PDF
  • Multiple windows and window tabs
  • Line commands, line numbers and column ruler
  • Widgets on the desktop and in Notification Center
  • Lock with Touch ID or password
  • System colors instead of color themes
The Mac editor

Built for the keyboard

The Mac version is a native app of its own, not an iPad port.

Line commands Duplicate, move and join lines.
Go to Line ⌘LJump straight to a line.
Quick Open ⇧⌘OOpen documents or files by their name.
One undo ⌘ZA single ⌘Z takes back any transformation.
Line numbers and column ruler You always see where you are in the text.

iCloud sync

iCloud on your terms

Through your private iCloud, documents and tags stay the same on iPhone, iPad and Mac. If another device changed the same document, the app reports the conflict with that device’s name and you decide: keep the local version or restore the cloud version (“Keep Local” or “Restore Cloud Version”). For illustration the demo shows both versions; in the app a prompt with the two choices appears instead. Try it:

Local version (this device)
Shopping
Milk, eggs, bread
Cloud version (changed on Mac)
Shopping (Saturday)
Milk, eggs, bread, cheese

Switch per device

You turn iCloud sync on and off per device (Settings › iCloud). Without iCloud the app works fully locally.

Status at a glance

The app shows what was synced, what is still pending and whether there are conflicts or errors. At the press of a button it restarts the sync.

Asked once

On first launch the app asks once whether to use iCloud.

Privacy

Your text stays yours

No account, no ads, no tracking

The app needs no sign-in and has no ads.

No AI, on purpose

No text leaves your device unless you turn on iCloud sync yourself. Then it lands in your private iCloud.

Lock documents

You lock private texts with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. The lock is a privacy screen inside the app, not encryption. It is off by default and applies only to documents you lock yourself.

Everything else is in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

?What is OneTwo Text Editor?

A calm plain text editor for iPhone, iPad and Mac with 46 text transformations, hex view, tabs and iCloud sync. It requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS 15 (or later). On the Home Screen the app appears as “12 Texteditor”.

?What do the transformations work on?

On your selection or, if nothing is selected, on the whole document. The app asks once beforehand, and afterwards a single undo takes it back.

?Do I need an account or AI?

No. There is no account, no ads, no tracking and no AI, on purpose. No text leaves your device unless you turn on iCloud sync yourself.

?What is the hex view for?

It shows the UTF-8 bytes of the text, on its own or next to the editor, read-only. Spot hidden characters, the byte sequences of umlauts and emoji, and line endings.

?Can I customize the toolbar?

Yes. You decide which of the 46 commands appear in the toolbar.

?How do I open files?

On iPhone, iPad and Mac you open and save text files and Markdown directly where they are stored (file mode), for example through “Open in” from the Files app or, on the Mac, through the Finder. The file is not copied into the library. “Import”, in contrast, creates a copy in the library, and “Export” writes a copy as a file.

?What happens with a sync conflict?

If another device changed the same document, the app reports the conflict with the device name and you choose between “Keep Local” and “Restore Cloud Version”. You turn sync on or off per device, and without iCloud the app works fully locally.

?How does the app differ from OneTwo Markdown?

OneTwo Text Editor is made for plain text, with cleanup tools and a hex view. OneTwo Markdown is an editor with a live preview for Markdown.

?How much does the app cost?

A one-time €2.99, one purchase for iPhone, iPad and Mac. There is no subscription and there are no in-app purchases. The price in the App Store at launch applies.

?When will the app be released?

There is no exact date yet. This page will be updated as soon as OneTwo Text Editor is available on the App Store.
